Its appearance is similar to that of purple grapes, but with the characteristic flavor of tropical berries, a mixture of wine and chocolate flavor. It is a fruit typical of Brazilian lands (although it is also found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador) and is obtained from the Asai palm, which usually grows in humid and flooded areas. Acai berries, a superfood?
Acai ( Euterpe oleracea ) is known by experts as a “superfood” or a “megafruit” due to the highly beneficial properties attributed to it due to its chemical composition rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals . In fact, it is a fruit that is widely studied by science today because it is believed that it may have benefits that help reduce the development of cancer and certain tumors.
It is believed that the antioxidant properties of Acai berries are a consequence of the areas in which it grows, the tropical regions near the equator . In these areas, ultraviolet radiation (UVA) is much more powerful, which makes the fruit create a large number of substances to protect itself from oxidation: the aforementioned antioxidants . The other properties of Acai berries
Although the antioxidants are the most notable components of Acai, it also consists of other compounds with beneficial properties that we should know. In fact, its composition in these fatty acids is very similar to that of olive oil, so its properties are very similar, also intervening favorably in the function of the immune system,relief of arthritic pain and atherosclerosis, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and reduced risk of heart problems.
