Both mother and child died due to negligence of a private clinic in Maheshkunt police station area of Khagaria district of Bihar. Pregnant woman Sanju Devi had to undergo an operation during delivery. During the operation, the doctor cut off the head of the child, due to which the newborn died, while the maternal woman also died in some time.
After this incident, the family blocked NH 107 in Maheshkunt demanding action on the hospital.
After the incident, several officials, including Gogri SDO Subhash Chandra Mandal and DSP PK Jha, arrived and explained the people who were blocking the protest. A sub-divisional police officer of Gogri says that after the incident, the clinic is being sealed on the application of the victim and half a dozen staff including its operator are being booked.
In connection with the incident, it is said that Amit Kumar of Mahdipur village in Parbatta block had admitted to Tata Emergency Hospital for delivery to his wife Sanju Devi, but the hospital administration cut the child’s throat during the operation. The child was then taken out. At the same time, the woman also started deteriorating, after which she also died.
As soon as the news of the death of the mother-child was received by the family, all the people started an uproar. Seeing the commotion of the family, the hospital operators and employees have escaped leaving the clinic. Please tell that on the instructions of Khagadia DM, fake nursing homes have been processed many times, but more than two dozen unlicensed nursing homes have been opened in the district, against which the Health Department is not taking any action.
